Prostate Cancer + Intravenous Vitamin C: A Winnng Combination?

Prostate cancer afflicts and kills an exorbitant amount of men in Western nations, and the causes and cures of the disease are still in a process of refinement and endless explanation. Along with radiation, hormone treatment, and other methods of curing it, prostate cancer + intravenous vitamin C has been seen to be an effective way of killing cancerous cells in the body.

As far as the causes of prostate cancer go, there have been a myriad of explanations and attempts at correlations, and some of the best evidence to come out of reputable studies is that a deficiency of vitamin D is correlated to a high risk of prostate cancer. Since vitamin D is most often absorbed by the uv rays of the sun, inhabitants of high-latitude areas of the world tend to have a higher risk of prostate cancer due to not receiving as much sunlight.

But as far as vitamins and vitamin supplements being able to cure prostate cancer, studies have been decidedly less encouraging. However, research has shown that, in a number of different kinds of cancer, high concentrations of vitamin C have killed cancer cells. Unfortunately, the levels of vitamin C needed to kill cells seem to be so high that simply taking vitamin C supplements cannot affect any sort of measurable change even in the case of prostate cancer + intravenous vitamin C.

Also, it is the levels of vitamin C in the bloodstream which affect the cancerous cells in the body, and so taking vitamin C orally doesn't allow full saturation of the blood in order to attack cancer of the prostate. Vitamin supplements are, naturally, good for other reasons, especially vitamin D if you happen to be a person who doesn't receive an adequate amount of supplement, but as far as their effectiveness in curing cancer, prostate or otherwise, it seems supplements just don't do the big job even in the case of the link between prostate cancer + intravenous vitamin C.
